What kind folks are saying about BRLH...

Hello Garry,
Thank you again for referring us to Buzz. We are very happy with the
results. I am heading down tomorrow and very
much look forward to seeing it! Buzz was very helpful and responsive. If I
can be a reference in the future for Blue Ridge Log Homes, I am more than
happy to do so. Thank you both, if things get better and I build another
cabin out on the farm, I'll know where to go! Thank you again.
Best,
Bill Mott

Good morning Blue Ridge Log Homes!
I’m a real estate broker in Richmond and I write as well. This morning after reading your email I got inspired to write an essay about my experience and how the right home always “speaks”. I’ve coached my clients this way for years…to only buy a home that they love…the one that pulls at their heart strings. Who knows, I may be able to get it published in a “home” magazine. I’m also inspired to see how else I might share the best kept secret in Shenandoah with our Richmond clientele here. My business is unique in that I only represent homebuyers and do not list property. But I’ll bet there are log cabin lovers everywhere. They may not know it until they see it and it calls out to them like yours did for me. I’ll let you know what I come up with. I’d love to help more owners get back to soulful living.
So many homes today look gorgeous on the outside, but feel like a cave on the inside. The homes do not have a soul or emit a feeling of warmth, if you know what I mean. They feel hollow inside. In times like these especially, we all need a house of belonging, somewhere that is our safe haven from the cares of the world. A place to make happy memories and create living happily everafter. The Emerson made me feel like that.
So I’ll put on my thinking cap and see what I come up with. It’s interesting that a month ago I started walking down by the River. The dose of nature was so soothing to my mind, body and soul. After each round, I’d sit on the bench by the river and just soak it all up. One morning I got to thinking about how life would be if I could “simplify” and strip away the noise and do what I love to do most…write and my women’s ministry. I thought about getting a red flannel shirt and trying it on for size and I thought about what life would feel like living by the river in a log cabin. And then viola’…I ride by and see your gorgeous model. Maybe life is speaking to me. I don’t believe anything is a coincidence! Feel free to use my comments on the web site. I’ll be by before the year is out and I’ll call first. Thank Gary for putting a little slice of heaven right here on earth…right in plain view for all of us to see and enjoy!
Blessings, Sharmaine

In the Spring of 2006, my husband and I got busy making our "Visions of Love" become a reality! You see, our visions included growing old together in a log home that we would design and that we would build on the farm in which I grew up. My husband had bought an older log home when he was a mere youngster and it was 'rough' built by some men that actually sawed the logs on site and 'put it together'...we made it our home for almost ten years. So, we knew we wanted a log home...not a conventional brick or stone and certainly not a 'stick' house covered with vinyl siding. We wanted a log home 'style' that would fit our personalities and our farm which was farmed by my great grandparents some 120 years earlier.
All of this began with tons of research and Garry L. Lewis, owner of Blue Ridge Log Homes. Garry was instrumental from day one in assisting us and guiding us in understanding log homes, the construction methods, log types, pitches, t&g, joices, and on and on and on! I was in log home overload...mentally! Garry educated us on exactly what it would take to build our log home both financially and technically. He even educated us on a few things non-log home! We thank him. We were able to select our logs at his mill and be 'in charge' of the building from the cold, January 2007 evening that Garry delivered our logs to our site and until the windy, cool March weekend in 2008 when we moved in. Yes, it takes some time but the old saying goes, "good things come to those who wait!"
If you are even considering building a log home and maybe it hasn't become your 'vision' yet, contact Garry. He will meet with you and spend considerate time with you to make it become a reality. Yes, my husband and I contacted several other log manufacturers but what we found was that Garry had time for us...it was that simple.
You can see our home, The Dalton here. Thanks again Garry. We love our log home...it's the most wonderful and beautiful place to be in the world!
